In 2012, EDIundertookChina’s 863 scientific research “Traction Substation Key Equipment and OCS on Line Monitoring Technology” under the sub-topic “High Speed Railway Infrastructure Service Status Detection” under the main topic “High Speed Railway Key Technology and Equipment Research and Development”. This scientific research determinedChina’s high speed railway’s essential technical schemes including power supply mode, suspension type and monitoring and control mode. Among these researches, the performance of the research “OCS Conductor with High Strength and High Conductivity” organized and researched by us has reached international advanced level; and research “2x27.5kV GIS Switchgear with Large Capacitance” which has successfully applied on Beijing-Shanghai high speed railway filled up the blank of home-made production. System earthing mode and compensation scheme of high speed railway power distribution system has become railway industry standard.
